Claudia with Easter flowers

Easter Flowers

Many years ago, the late Claudia Ansell began the tradition of our bringing flowers or flowering plants to the Easter Sunday worship service to brighten our sanctuary, and then taking the plants back home to plant or taking them to a nursing home.

Let us continue this lovely tradition. Please come early enough on Easter Sunday to place your flowers or plants at the front of our sanctuary before the service begins. If you are attending the April 5 service via Zoom, you are invited to go outside after the service to appreciate the spring flowers or to plant some flower seeds.  If you are not able to go outside, look out your window and see what signs of spring you notice.
For those who loved Claudia, let’s remember her with gratitude, and let us all be grateful for our community that encourages compassion to flower.

Potluck Dinners

Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 PM
at 222 Temple St, Fredonia NY

We suggest a different theme each week:

March 25: Appetite for East Asia
April 1: April Fool! Interpret this one any way you like, or choose a favorite from any spring holiday.
April 8: Foods from our Childhoods
April 15: It’s Tax Day! Bring a favorite low-budget dish.
No potluck on April 22. Instead, join us for an Earth Day Community Soup Supper & Celebration; scroll down for details.
April 29: Spring in Chautauqua County: Can you bring something locally grown?

Themes are not mandatory, and interpretation is up to you. Surprise us with an entree, side dish, beverage, or dessert of your choice.

Please bring a dish to pass, and please list the ingredients for anyone with dietary concerns.

There is a sign-up sheet on the back table for set-up and clean up duties. If you plan to attend, please plan to help out. Many hands make light work!
